PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD

Psalm 116:15 - Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

We have recently lost four members of our church family of whom this verse accurately applies. First the word “SAINT” – Sainthood is not a matter of academic achievement or institutional conferment. Rather a saint is a disciple of and a follower of Christ whose chief characteristic is LOVE! Second the word “DEATH”. The word “"death” is a downer on the one hand but on the other hand we may say synonymously “transition” The scripture encourages us in this transition “Let not your heart be troubled” because “to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. Finally “PRECIOUS” – Jesus said before his departure “I will send the Holy Spirit, the comforter, who will bring to remembrance all things” We can take comfort in the Holy Spirit and in the precious memories of our loved-ones now and for the remainder of our lives both here and in our reunion in heaven.
