THE ONE REALLY BIG THING
1
Corinthians 15: 3For
what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for
our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day
according to the Scriptures.
II. The One Really Big Thing Can Move All Other Big Things
Mark 16: 2Very early on the first day of the week,
just after sunrise, they (Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome)
were on their way to the tomb 3and they asked
each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the
tomb?" 4But when they looked up, they
saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man
dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. 6"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You
are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not
here
III. The One Really Big Thing Has It’s Doubters
John 20:24
Now Thomas one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25
So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail
marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into
his side, I will not believe.”
IV. The One Really Big Thing Has It’s Believers
26
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them.
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace
be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see
my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and
believe.” 28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Then Jesus told him, “Because
you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and
yet have believed.”
