MORE THAN (John 21)
I. MORE THAN Means Loving Jesus
John
21:15
When
they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you
truly love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
II. MORE THAN Means Serving Others
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” 16Again
Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you truly
love me? ” He answered, “Yes,
Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 17The
third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the
third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know
that I love you.” 18Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.
III. MOST: God is Love
1 John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who
loves has been born of God and knows
God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God
is love. 13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He
has given us of his Spirit. 15 If anyone acknowledges
that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 God is love. Whoever
lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
